Heating the building

For one-day-old chicks, it is especially important to provide them with the appropriate temperature for optimal growth and development. We have to adjust the temperature before moving in. The initial temperature for day-old chicks is preferably between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius.

Excessive heat leads to dehydration of chickens, while low temperature weakens the growth and development of chickens. Ensuring the optimum temperature and preventing it from varying is a very important step.

The next important step is the gradual lowering of the temperature. In this way, we achieve the effective development of the own temperature regulation mechanism in chickens.

Robins Facility Heating

Poultry is extremely sensitive to the level of humidity in the air. If the air is dry, their skin becomes sensitive and they get sick more easily from various diseases. If the air is continuously dry, the general development of the chicks slows down. However, if the humidity in the air is too high, ideal conditions for the appearance of mold are created. The feathers of chickens can also become damp and their ability to thermoregulate is reduced. This also leads to a decrease in immunity. Until the 10th day of fertilization, the required humidity is 70 to 75%, and after the 10th day, 50 to 60%. In production conditions on small and medium-sized farms, it is not easy to create optimal air humidity conditions, but there are several effective ways. By spraying the wall of the building or the part of the floor that is not under the mat (inaccessible to the chickens). With the development of chickens, we reduce the high level of humidity in the air by aerating.

In the summer, the heating should be turned on for 24 hours at the latest, and in the winter for 36 hours after moving the chickens, in order to achieve an optimal temperature of 32 degrees Celsius at a height of 20 cm from the floor.

For temperature control, place thermometers at a height of 20 cm

In order to save on heating, hardboard circles can be placed in the building, above which a heating element (artificial hen) is placed, or the building can be partitioned to 1/3 with nylon curtains in the first 7-10 days of fattening.
